The United States Constitution is the Supreme law of the United States. James Madison helped to ratify the Constitution and was one of the last founding fathers to sign it. 11 years earlier, his "Virginia Plan" had formed the basis for creating the constitution. The United States Constitution had a major impact on history. It changed the way the United States governed from the time it was ratified to the present day. It sets down basic principles and laws so the the government can stay a Democracy.
